Online Therapy for Adults Across Colorado

Root Down to Rise Up

Roots to Rise is a small telehealth therapy practice for adults 18 and older, anywhere in Colorado. Every session is held by secure video, which means you meet with me from your own home rather than from a waiting room.

The name comes from a yoga cue. Root down to rise up. It describes how the work is sequenced here: we tend the ground under your feet before we ask you to grow, and we treat that pacing as the work itself rather than a warm-up for it.

A lot of the people who find me feel things at full volume and have been told that is a problem. Others have spent a long time holding everything together for everyone else. Some arrive exhausted. Some are carrying something that happened years ago and still has a grip on the present. Some are working out what they were taught about their worth and whether they still believe it. My five-phase approach gives that work a shape without putting a schedule on it.

I keep the caseload small on purpose, so no session is rushed and nobody is fit into a gap. Before you commit to anything, I offer a free introductory consultation. It is a short conversation about what you are looking for and whether this is the right place for it, with no paperwork and no expectation that you schedule afterward.

I am based in Cañon City and licensed to work with clients throughout Colorado. You do not have to be in crisis to belong here.

Nothing about you needs correcting. What you are doing makes sense once someone sits down and looks at it with you, because it is what the situation asked of you. There is room here for the questions you were taught to keep to yourself, and no clock running while you find the words for them.

How I Can Help

Where the Work Begins

I offer individual, couples, and family therapy by video, matched to what you are carrying rather than to a fixed protocol. These are the areas I work in most.

Online Therapy
Individual sessions by secure video, from wherever you already feel comfortable. No drive, no waiting room, and no arranging your day around an hour-long appointment. Learn More... about Online Therapy at Roots to Rise

Couples Therapy
For partners caught in the same painful patterns. We look at what each of you brings into the relationship and build skills for the conversations that keep going sideways. Learn More... about Couples Therapy at Roots to Rise

Family Therapy
For families in a hard season, disconnected, or stuck in conflict. Adults are the clients, and children and teens are welcome to join sessions. Learn More... about Family Therapy at Roots to Rise

Burnout Therapy
For the tired that sleep does not fix. I start with your nervous system rather than your calendar, then look at what you were taught about rest and who is allowed to need it. Learn More... about Burnout Therapy at Roots to Rise

Trauma Therapy
TF-CBT, parts work, DBT skills, and somatic practices for experience that got stored instead of processed. I build safety first and do not rush the hard material. Learn More... about Trauma Therapy at Roots to Rise

Anxiety Therapy
For a mind that will not set the problem down and a body that reacts before you consciously do. We work with the worry and with the shame that usually travels beside it. Learn More... about Anxiety Therapy at Roots to Rise

Religious Trauma Therapy
Support for adults examining beliefs they were handed in controlling or high-control environments. I hold no position on where you land. Learn More... about Religious Trauma Therapy at Roots to Rise

Neurodivergent Therapy
Affirming work for ADHD, autistic, and highly sensitive clients. A differently calibrated nervous system is information about how you work, not a defect to correct. Learn More... about Neurodivergent Therapy at Roots to Rise

Sessions draw on TF-CBT, DBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems and parts work, somatic and mindfulness-based practices, and shame resilience. Which of those I reach for depends entirely on you.

I bill in network through three insurance platforms, Headway, Grow Therapy, and Rula, so you can check your coverage before your first session, and a sliding scale is available for clients paying privately. Evening appointments and a limited number of weekend appointments are open.

Not sure whether this is the right fit? That is exactly what the free consultation is for.

Therapy Across Colorado

Care That Does Not Depend on the Drive

Roots to Rise is based in Cañon City, and because every session is held by video, where you live does not decide whether you can be seen. I work with adults 18 and older throughout Colorado.

Therapy in Cañon City and Fremont County

This is home. The practice is based in Cañon City, and my referral relationships across Fremont County run back more than a decade. If you are in Cañon City, Florence, Penrose, Cotopaxi, or the communities along the Arkansas River, I am local to you, and you still never have to drive to an appointment.

Therapy in Southern and Rural Colorado

Rural Colorado is the priority here, not an afterthought. In much of the state a therapist means an hour in the car each way, a wait list, or a provider who knows half the people you know. I work with clients in Pueblo, Salida, Buena Vista, Westcliffe, Woodland Park, Trinidad, La Junta, Alamosa, and across the San Luis Valley.

Therapy Anywhere Else in Colorado

Video removes distance as a factor, so the rest of the state is open too. Colorado Springs, the Denver metro, Fort Collins, Grand Junction, Durango, and the Western Slope. Wherever you are sitting, the session looks the same.

Licensure sets one limit. I can work with you as long as you are physically located in Colorado at the time of your session, which is a rule about where you are sitting rather than where I am. Beyond that, distance is not a factor.
